I got up close with my camera to take pics of this red tail hawk as he sat in a tree in my backyard. He has a fresh kill.. Some poor bird. If you look close he still has a bit of flesh in his mouth. I love taking pics of wildlife and birds. How about you? Any cool pics to share?

Wow, that's an awesome shot. I love taking pictures but I've never had this kind of luck so I mostly stick to shots of my pets and scene shots of my mountains or shots of flowers.

It's also a series of fortunate accidents @minx267 you happened to be in the right place at the right time. Easy shots are landscapes. Flowers can be easy provided there is no wind. If you happen to train your pets to sit still then that can be easy too but who wants to train pets to sit still for candid shots, right?

These are the most common around us.. but this past year I have seen, a marlin (in my backyard and I had to look it up online) and a Coopers hawk. we have black vultures and I saw my first bald eagles last year in the nest town over... Right in the beginning of this video I took... you see a YOUNG bald eagle take off from the water with a fish... when I started filming it.. I didn't even see him there.. I was filming the Heron and the Egret (this was also my first sighting of a white egret! but my jaw dropped at the eagle..
While Filming a Great white Egret fishing, I noticed a commotion and caught this Eagle jumping in the water and grabbing a big fish... much bigger than the h...

That is a nice photo. Yes, I can see that meat piece there (lol) I love taking pictures of birds and even video clips. We have a bird bath and we see several birds frolicking there and fly around in our garden where they get to eat fruits

You have got a great photo there. It's really crisp and clear. And what spectacular plumage he has.
