Day 9 Matthew 7:1-5 Matthew 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. 3 And why behold thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but consider not the beam that is in thine own eye? 4 Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? 5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye. People tend to judge others before they know them. They are judged by the clothes they wear, the schools they attended, who their parents are, who their friends are. Rarely do people give others a chance before they pass sentence on them. Jesus said you are not to judge because as you judge others, you will be judged. Instead, you are to consider your own faults and make changes in your life first. When you do, you will be able to see the person you thought was not worthy of your attention, could become your best friend. As Christians, you know you aren’t worthy of salvation, or to have the Father consider you for anything other than eternal separation from him. Yet, because God loves you, he sent Jesus to redeem you by his blood, shed for you on Calvary’s mount, and gave you the opportunity to say yes to him, and receive salvation instead of damnation. As soon as you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord, the Father no longer saw you in your filthy state, but saw the blood of Jesus covering you, and called you his child. Romans 3:21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believes in Jesus. (KJV) Romans 5:8 But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (KJV) Romans 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11 There is none that understands, there is none that seeks after God. 12 They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that does good, no, not one. 13 Their throat is an open sepulcher; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: 14 Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: 15 Their feet are swift to shed blood: 16 Destruction and misery are in their ways: 17 And the way of peace have they not known: 18 There is no fear of God before their eyes. No one is perfect. No one has the right to judge another person unworthy when we all stand condemned before God. However, God loves us so much he sent his Son to bring us to salvation so we could have a relationship with him. Is someone different from you? Guess what, you’re different from them too. You all have the same makeup. You might look different on the outside, but on the inside, you all have the same organs, in the same place, and you all bleed red. Don’t let your differences keep you from possible friendships. Those differences are meant to sharpen you and make you a better person. Proverbs 27:17 Iron sharpens iron; so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend. It’s time to be iron and for you to sharpen those rough edges. When you do, you will see clearly the qualities of the person you considered unworthy. Let’s pray: Father, help me see all people the way you see them, with eyes of love, and not with condemnation. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. Copyright © 27 April 2018 by Valerie Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay

Amen! Thank you for this! Ive been reading a new book about Jesus and am having a hard time putting it down! One thought that keeps echoing from his sayings is judge no one! He was/ is such a remarkable person. Is it ever possible for anyone to get that level of enlightenment that they can live without judgement?
