What's for dinner? April 27

What's going on the dinner table tonight? I want to know! I had planned on making turkey-ricotta meatballs but then decided to go a totally different way. As I went through one of my cookbooks, Small Victories, looking for ideas for things to make next week I saw a recipe for Homemade Merguez with Herby Yogurt. I remembered reading on Chowhound that everyone really loved the recipe and that several people made it with ground turkey instead of the ground lamb that is called for. So, that's what I decided to go with. I did have to make a couple of adjustments as I discovered that I was completely out of paprika and fresh garlic, but I still think that it will be fine. To go with the merguez, I am going to make green beans in a lemony-vodka cream sauce. I've made it many times before and love it. It is an Amy Thielen recipe and it is absolutely wonderful. That's what's happening here. What are YOU having? Do tell!

I´m still trying to think what will I have for dinner. There are some delicious garbanzo beans leftover from lunch. And I have home made crepes that I can eat either with something sweet or with some melted cheese.

That sounds wonderful. I've never made a good traditional beef stew but I haven't tried in many years. I do make beef bourguignon about once a month in the winter, though. That I have down pretty well.

I don't make "gourmet" recipes. Just stuff from scratch. A fish platter sounds wonderful. I love fish.
