Blooming again

We've been away for a month and a half and I was worried our plants and the grass on the lawn would wither. Thankfully, I found somebody to come everyday to water the plants and the lawn and feed and bathe my daughter's dobberman. It was scorching hot when we came home middle of this month but I was glad our plants were still green and healthy. Early this morning, as I looked out from the garage window, I saw my silver dust blooming and I immediately went out to take a shot of it :)

Yes, it was good and I'm happy he followed my instructions to water the plants and lawn everyday unless it rained.

Gardeners do worry about their plants when they are away. I'm glad your bushes didn't die. This one is very pretty.

Yes, I guess he did a good job watering our lawn and plants. However, the forecast is that it will even be hotter thise month so I hope my plants and blue grass survive :)

The violet ones are bougainvilleas, so I suppose the silver dust is that one with the bougainvillea which you can see like silver leaves. The caretaker did a fine job while you were away.

No, they are not bougainvillas, Ms. LT; they are the silver dust. Behind that is the green dust.

It sounds like your plants and grass would not have survived if you hadn't found someone to give them water.

Oh that's very unfortunate, Ms. Bess! To think that you must have taken good care of the plants all these time only to lose them while you were away for only a while (about the same time we were away).

@BelleStarr My daughter's friend gave me some of those perennials and annuals from NZ but I was unsuccessful in growing them. I guess they cannot acclimatize here in my country.

@sunrisefan So you can cultivate new plants by just breaking off branches and re-planting them? In the days of my youth I used to work at a tree nursery, and we did that with ficus trees and banyan trees. Part of my job was breaking off branches and planting them in new pots to grow into new trees.

@moffittjc Yes, that's right. There are plants that I only need to break a small branch and plant it and it grows.

Thanks :) Appreciate that you like it. Indeed it's quite rare here too and I'm trying to break some branches and plant them in pots so I can share them with friends if I'd be successful in growing them.
