So now I have a skin rash!

I suppose this new thing has to do with taking Naproxen for several days to counter the Achilles tendon swelling caused by a reaction to an antibiotic. I first noticed yesterday afternoon that I have a mottled reddish rash all over my legs and chest. I have stopped taking the Naproxen, which can cause such a rash. I called my doc's office and talked with a triage nurse who told me if my tongue swelled or my throat closed up to get to an emergency room. Really?? None of that is happening and the good news is that the rash does not itch. It is not on my face or scalp and I am trying to flush it out of my system by drinking lots of water. I can now walk normally, though the swelling around my heel an ankle on my left foot is still there. I must say that I'm getting a little tired of these "symptoms of the day" appearances. No photo with this one; even the free ones are too ugly!

Sorry but I had to chuckle at the symptoms of the day comment. Hope you can flush it all out soon but be careful you don't damage that achilles rushing to the bathroom

Hopefully it's not caused by the chlorine, or sometimes fluorine, in the drinking water...

This is the problem with medicines, they cure something but they cause other kind of problems. I hope you can stop medications and feel well soon.

Yes, it is very odd for me to experience so many little illnesses on top of pneumonia.

The triad nurse probably didn't help much, I would have probably imagined I had some of the symptoms she talked about. But lucky you didn't develop them.

It can be a merciless merry go 'round when you wind up taking one medicine to offset the side effects of another medicine. Keep in mind, though, that if you drink too much water, you will need to replace minerals and even salt because all that water flushes eveything out of your system, not just Naproxen. Just trying to give you something else to worry about.

Have you spoke to your Dr.about this.It could be serious if you do not take care of it.

Yes I spoke by phone to the triage nurse at my doc's office twice and they are not alarmed as long as it does not itch and is a flat, not raised rash, but thanks for the suggestion.

Be grateful for small mercies I guess. It would be pretty nasty if it were itching as well.
