Good morning on a Wednesday, dear fellow mylotters, how are you this sunny day? The temperature here now is 31 degrees Celsius this 11:26 am.
The heat index here in my place might reach 42 degrees that is why I am doing some measures to keep myself hydrated. I have started to drink about 500cc of cold water at 2 hours interval, more than the required 8 glasses of water a day. Also, the shirt that I am wearing now is not so loose and it is thick, that is why I will use a thinner and loose shirt after bath. Baths can also cool my body down.
With the increase in my fluid intake, it is expected that I will visit the bathroom many times, but it will be good because the salt in my body will be removed. I also hope I will not have accumulated fluids (edema) under my skin. Besides, I have half a tablet of diuretic that I take before lunch, every day.
Aside from the measures I have stated above, can you share some of your interventions to keep yourself cool this summer?

my son, when he was still a toddler, had an inflatable pool. we also used that and dipped ourselves at night. i cannot find it anymore.
but having our baths longer than 15 minutes, with cold water, will surely keep us cool.

@ridingbet Watermelon has very few calories, it is very good in summer. Bananas are very high in calories.

@LadyDuck yes watermelon is good to quench thirst. banana is rich in potassium, an electrolyte that is usually lost during dehydration.

that is why eating bananas and watermelons and other summer fruits can, in a way, add the electrolytes being removed by our kidneys when we pee.

oh yes, watermelons, but it is becoming costly here due to the demand of consumers. sometimes too, some watermelons are sold still unripe

yes, we should increase our fluid intake everyday. our kidneys, blood pressure, and skin will most benefit from the hydration we give to our bodies.
