Has the Bill Cosby conviction and no riot thereafter shown America has grown up around race and crime?

Is the Bill Cosby trial a sign that Black America have moved on? The OJ trail was extraordinary in revealing Americas racial fault lines and it was exposed in a brilliant documentary called ‘OJ: The Making of America’, about the trial and his life, that the black jurors did not care if OJ did kill Nicole Simpson or not but would get OJ off as revenge and so we had the incredible Not Guilty. The expression on Kim Kardashain’s lawyer dad’s face will remain with us for many more decades. The black jurors quietly told reporters it was payback for all the times black people they know were accused for crimes they did not commit because they were black and ‘so you white folks would see how it feels when the guilty get off’. In some ways you can understand that mentality as one in three black boys born today will end up in the jail system at some point. Even white people cheered OJ's escape from the police in the white Bronco back in 1994. I recommend you get that box-set. OJ and Cosby were huge black icons that managed to cross the racial divide in America and everyone loved them. The Cosby show was the biggest ratings TV event in America in the 1980s because of. White people liked this really nice doctor and black family because they dressed and behaved like them in the sitcom, in their minds, and so not a threat. They thought he was like that in real life. Even when the first rape allegations started to bubble up both black and white simply did not believe it and carried on their love affair. Cosby played the race card and the threat went away. Then Cosby got old, his show ended and he started touring the country lecturing black people to behave like white people by not committing crime and going to school. When beautiful famous male people get old they become more vulnerable, in the minds of the accusers that sexy man that touched them up in 1960 now that old man I see now. Eventually one of his own, a black comedian, bought up the rape allegations in his act and attacked Cosby. His set went viral on social media and the women who had been raped started to feel empowered because it was black man making these allegations. Because the allegations were so old they could not be tried, accept one, Andrea Constands, who had fired a civil case back in 2005 against Cosby. In the transcripts of that trial he admitted to drugging women for sex. That opened the door for the end of Bill Cosby and even the black community eventually turned their back on him. This week he was found guilty of sexual abuse and could get ten years. My point is black America is not rioting over this case, even though 50 of the 59 accusers are white. A mostly white male jury found him guilty. Black America is still not rioting. A lot of poor black kids would like the chance to have the latest sneakers. Poor black America is not rioting. Has America grown up at last over race? It was a big victory for the #meetoo campaign and let’s hope more abusive men fall now. Most of the prominent women that claimed rape by Cosby are now lesbians. 59 women have come forward over claims over a 50-year span. I’m sure some are gold diggers looking for cash now they are old, not so pretty and their original hush money has run out, not so connected to the rich and famous now whilst others are genuine and still traumatised. Some are feminists and casual debauched sex back then is now abuse in today’s less macho society. I have no doubt he abused his fame and drugged women for sex. But it took a black woman, Lili Bernard, to get the black community to wake up to this guy as she came out as another victim. This is a victory for America.

thats because "black america" disowned him when he started doing the lecturing about how blacks should behave more morally right and not be afraid of being "uncle tomed". the same way that the so called "minority" status quo is treating kanye west right now, is how cosby was treated back then. so, im not surprised there was no fuss from the black community, or any of the black protest groups.

I was unaware OJ Simpson got off. I thought he went to prison and should have, though I didn't follow the trial. As for Cosby, I'm glad he's going to prison.

That's a lot of women. I've seen Bill Cosby in some shows, but I was unaware of his acts until it became news.
