The author of Gone With The Wind had taken a leave of absence from her job to recuperate from a car accident. Her husband got tired of bringing books home from the library for her and remarked that she should write her own. Margaret Mitchell went on to win a Pulitzer Price for her work "Gone With The Wind" on May , 3, 1937. Then she was struck by a driver and died five days later at the age of 48. Sort of full circle.

Apparently, she had bad luck with cars! At least she lived long enough to know she won the PUlitizer Prize.
