I need some ideas

I would like to make up some wedding favorites for the guest at my daughter's upcoming wedding. You know just those little things that you get when you go to a wedding. Some have bubbles, mints or candy, coffee beans, package of seeds, etc. Things along that line that you personalize with their name and date. Do you any good ideas of what I could make? What are some wedding favorites that you have received at weddings that you attended?

If the flood waters don't subside before the wedding you may have to give a personalized rowboat and life jacket. Just sayin'

A little bell with a ribbon and notecard with the names and date of wedding. Bells are rung either when they walk ot as a couple or after they are introduced as husband and wife, or husband and husband, or wife and wife.

@Happy2BeMe I'm glad you like it. I almost forgot about them. I grabbed two of them that were lying around. I still have them, though I don't use cans, perhaps they would work for my bottled water.

When I got married, we made very simple favors. We took votive candles and wrapped them in beautiful lace squares that we cut from a larger piece. Then we attached labels with our names and the date of our wedding on one side and thank you! on the other. Our guests seemed to love them.

That's not easy if you want to be original, you need the guests to see you care about them, that you are grateful for their visit. Making a small personal gift for everyone: I would make a card with my personal thanks to every guest, with my hand writing. What else ? maybe a key chain with something you know the guest likes. Ummm...you will need to know your guests, to be their friend. Sometimes we got a small plastic bottle with candies, a small pack with candies, I think it's fine too.

@Happy2BeMe Please share and tell us what your decision is. Maybe it will help many others with a happy event to prepare: birthday, wedding, etc...

Perhaps use something that identifies the month of their wedding, like seeds for the flower of the month or something like that.

What about some really small mason jars, that you could engrave at work with the bride and groom's name on it and their wedding date, and then maybe fill it with some potpourri and put a little netting with the theme colour of the wedding to cover it. I like little dainty things like that, and if you were able to do the engraving I think that it would mean a lot to both the guests as well as the bride and groom.

What are the colors or the theme? Part of ours were chocolates (just regular Hershey nuggets with the gold wrapping) but I personalized it by putting our own wrapper band around the chocolate . . . you can print it out on the computer, cut it and tape/glue it! We had family crests on both sides, so we put that on various items - like bubble champagne bottles. Printing things out and using shipping tape as a make shift lamination/sticker is awesome! I've seen clear photo frames used as seat markers - but also decorated so the guests can take it home and use it for themselves. Oh, I've seen little succulents too (a ribbon and tag around the teeny pot). Lots of possibilities!!

My older sister did sand art bottles, they were beautiful. My youngest sister did flip flops for everyone and my brother had candles. =) All different but special!

At Hindu weddings here, we get an assortment of Indian sweets. It's either boxed or in pretty colorful bags with ribbons. But it is not compulsory. It's given when you serve lunch or collect lunch. Christian weddings also give sweet with personalized token or so.

A sweet iced strawberry flavoured cake would be simply wonderful. You can also make an edible madonna statue of the same flavour. I was served one in a prewedding, really liked!
