I never seem to get to see movies these days that could match those of yester years. We were movie buffs and never missed a single movie that could be called classy. A Patch of Blue was one such movie - where a black falls in love with a white blind girl. Both Sidney Poitier and Elizabeth Hartman left no stone upturned to present a great performance. What do you think? Here is a review

A Patch of Blue is one of my favorite classic movie. I liked it a lot. Another Sidney Poitier movie is Lillies of the Field. Sidney made so many good movies that I enjoy.

@allknowing They certainly don't make them like they used to. Another of his films Lilies of the field is one of my favourites too.

@allknowing Yes they were. I particularly liked one in which he was a teacher. "To sir, with love" was called.

I think that movies in the past were better although there are some modern ones that are equally good

This is such a great movie. I love Sidney Poitier. He was a very good actor. Another favorite of mine with him is To Sir With Love. Excellent movie, if you haven't seen it yet. I highly recommend it.

i read introduction of movie,i think love is selfless sacrifice, just like that black man sacrifices to exchange the happiness of blind girl.the skin or colour is not the limit and taboo of love.but the prejudice of society is the blockade of two lovers.one said:"If you asked me what love is,i say that it will let people pay the life to get together."that's the saddest love.i guess "a patch of blue"is also the saddest love
