Our plans have been changed for us

I did say in a previous post that things were going ‘somewhat to plan’ which they were but it seems I spoke too soon. We have had the odd problem with our car lately and Vince has fixed several minor issues with the help of YouTube tutorials. However today we drove to an endurance ride where Vince was to take photos and when we tried to move on to a better vantage point, the car refused to start.
I won’t bore you with all the details but we’re now home and the car will be going to a garage hopefully on Monday. We need to get this problem sorted properly as the Nullarbor Plain is the last place where we’d want to break down on our trip from the west coast to eastern Australia. Most of our plans are flexible but we have booked our ferry passage across the Tasman to Tasmania. If we can make that appointment, we’ll be happy enough. The other visits can all be made on the way home almost as easily as on the way over. It’s still a disappointment but never mind, I’ll just myLot some more.
With the problems we’ve had lately, the saying seemed almost appropriate if a bit of overkill.

OH what a nuisance. I hope they can fix the problem and it is not too expensive. Gosh that is some road trip you are going to do!

To be honest, it's good the problem occurred when it did rather than when we were halfway across Australia with the nearest garage several hours away.

You always take me to a memory. It was at my nephew's place in Colorado. He was taking me to the Colorado Mountains and so he picked up the car that was perfect while the other car needed some minor repairs. The dominant wife gave him a mouthful for planning to leave the other car behind as she had to leave the kids to school and in a way she was right(lol) He then took the other car and got it repaired on the way.
Hope you will make the best of whatever the situation is.

Thanks. I'm amazed how patient and resigned I've become with age. Once I would have been running circles and getting nowhere. Now I just take it as it comes - mostly! However I really don't like having an unreliable car so I hope they are able to fix it properly.

@moffittjc Thanks. We've now teed up to take photos at Tasmania's State endurance ride just a few days after we get there. Of course we'll need to have the car going by then but the ferry crossing isn't till June 4 so we have lots of time.

@JudyEv hope so..that is why I don't personally drive in my vehicle to see my familyn. I have no confidence by vehicle would make it over the mountains and back!

I'm not keen on having an unreliable car. Hopefully they'll be able to sort out the problem once and for all.

We sat out in a pine plantation for a while to wait for riders but we didn't switch off the engine. Luckily we had a full tank of fuel. He did get some photos but not as many as he would have liked. But at least we didn't have to be towed home.

Well, I guess in life, there are times when we just have to expect or accept the unexpected. It's good that you think positively, and yes, myLot is always here which is good.
Hope the car issue will be fixed very soon, as it's really inconvenient when the car refuses to work properly.

We still have my little Hyundai Excel so it's not as if we're stuck.

It's best it's happened now rather than halfway across the desert - which isn't really 'desert' just very deserted.
