People get offended by this now?

I understand people getting offended when Hollywood decided to have White actors play Asian roles like Son Goku, Motoko Kusonagi or Juan Rico being played by White actors because that is a racist decision but I don't think people should be offended if someone wears a traditional costume of another culture. A teenage girl decided to wear a Qi Pao or Chinese dress on her prom because she thinks it's pretty. Out of nowhere , suddenly she got bullied online by some Asian Americans and Social justice warriors and they are accusing her of cultural appropriation.... It is like saying Mike Shinoda is not allowed to be a rock band vocalist because only white people should sing rock or it's like saying Eminem should not rap because he is not black. Most of Us around the world are now wearing clothing culturally invented by White people and you won't see a white person being offended seeing an Japanese person wearing T-shirt and jeans instead of Kimono. Whenever Beauty pageants are held in Asia, the host countries makes the contestants wear the traditional dress . In Sport events they also make Athletes wear traditional clothing and they get to eat the local food. In Mexico they make the tourist wear sombreros. I don't think actual Chinese people from China gets offended when a foreign woman wears Qi Pao, In fact they love making tourist wear them.
Keziah Daum, an 18-year-old high school senior in Utah, said she bought the dress at a vintage store and "would wear it again."

The world has gone completely mad. The Liberal lunatics will now create a big issue where people can't wear Asian dresses, and once that's achieved they'll call it racist to not wear Asian dresses and say we're persecuting the Asian designers. The best thing to do with Liberals is to find a country they WOULD be happy in, and buy them a one way ticket.

The liberal says they are not racist but when a person of color told them to stop protesting inside a library as people are there to study they are the ones to throw a racial slur.
Will these Anti-Trump protestors ever look in the mirror? The Trump doctor should prescribe them "2 doses of empathy" and "3 doses of reality" and "-2 doses ...

@mythociate University of Washington, A proffesor there wanted to ban gendered Pronouns like He,she, him and her. She wanted everyone to use her Tumblr friendly invention. “Ze and hir” so people who identify as genderless wont be offended.

I agree that those liberals are wrong, but I wouldn't tell them to "immigrate" (is that the word? or is it 'exigrate' or 'de-immigrate'?) They have "every right" to complain about such little things--even if their complaint is 'a squawking redneck exclamation' ("Dey Derk Ourr JARBS!")--but in weighing their little complaints against the big rewards one gets for living-and-letting-live in America, the little annoyances aren't big enough a problem to necessitate MOVING

Some people are crazy, people should be allowed to wear what they like to wear provided it does not break laws of where they are, it does not endanger them healthwise or safetywise, is not considered indecent or obscene in the place where they are. ( just my personal view and opinion)

@CaptAlbertWhisker exactly so why make an issue with this girl? Your example about rock band attire is very good. What do you think if we wear Elvis style clothes and walk around?

@louievill I am sure you will be proud if an American boy wears barong on the prom.

Qi Pao is not even a religious clothing. I mean waitresses wear it, Party girls wear it, Singers wear it. Women of all shapes and sizes wear it,We just got a reaction from an actual person from China and she said that She have no issues with foreigners wearing Qi Pao.

I have read this and I cannot understand. When I visited the Chinese World in Disney EPCOT, I bought a red Qi Pao there. All the sale persons were Chinese and I have to say that they came to look at me to compliment how great the dress looked on me. Nobody was offended and no one told me that I was not allowed to wear that dress.

The funny thing is majority of the social Justice warriors are not even Asians. Most of them are white. Actual Chinese people from China are so proud of Qi Pao that they love it when foreigners wear it.

Oh yes! Thank you for posting this. I totally agree. I can understand when it's a white person playing the role of another culture - because there are many actors of that culture who could play it... it takes an opportunity away from someone actually from that culture or tradition, however, isn't it flattering if someone finds to certain dress of a culture to be attractive, and wish to wear it? They are not saying "I'm Chinese" or "India" or... whatever they simply find the garment pretty

And majority of the world dont even wear the clothes of their culture. Everyone wears western clothing. I think wearing traditional clothes of a country is more of appreciation and admiration.

I think Asian Americans are more clingy and protective to the traditional Asian stuff because they are a minority on a country where they live and its a piece of culture they cling to. Little did they know the Asians who lives in Asia dont care if foreigners wears them. Most of the complainers are actually white people who are too politically correct.

@CaptAlbertWhisker * Too politically incorrect because those complainers are actually working to destroy America from within.

@CaptAlbertWhisker I beg to disagree, we don't let the tourist wear terno here. If there's a formal-government gathering that is the time that they use it depending on their theme. they can choose and they can vote what to wear. As for the beauty pageant candidates, they wore the local costume wherever the pageant was held.

Dresses of each country have been accepted globally so whether you wear jeans and T-shirt or a kimono or any traditional dress, no country will mind but rather they'll be happy as their tradition gets exposure.

Bah, humbug with these SJW whiners! The Last Samurai was played by Western white American actor, Tom Cruise ( he did well in that movie!) Jackie Chan is famous and awesome at what he does in his Western films. So, these liberal leftist SJWs should get a life and hard working jobs-- their cockoo-nut shells connected to their upper extremities of their bodies should be busy that there should be no room for whining and complaining.

Some people just love to get attention for the sake of freedom of speech. They probably didn't look at their history and just the ones appropriate for their cause. I think every one should be wearing the clothes they like.
