Diary Friday 4th May 2018 I'll get the Star Wars Day May The Fourth Be With You gag out of the way right away. It comes round every year on this day. My day involved job searches rather than light sabre battles and discovering that relatives were Sith Lords. I was sent proof copies of a newsletter for the volunteers I help out with as I have an article in the newsletter and I'm in two photos used in it too. The copy was fine. Diary Saturday 5th May 2018 I was on an away day trip today helping out as a volunteer at a health Mela in the town of Accrington, giving out leaflets promoting the volunteer services in Preston. I had a long train journey to Accrington and purposely went a few hours early to explore the lovely mill town too. The weather was spectacularly nice. The Mela started out very busy. There were stalls representing lots of community groups and regional health services. Along with the other volunteers I was given sandwiches, water and oranges - there were several food / drink bags left over too so we all got extra ones to bring home. Though we expected to be there until four pm, the event wound down by about 2pm, so I had more time still to explore the town and its pub signs. I was very tired when I got home. Sunday 6th May 2018 A quiet day writing up on yesterday, job searching, editing my photos, working on my pub signs book and watching TV. Arthur Chappell

You did the right thing going earlier to explore the town. This is what I also do all the time.

@LadyDuck went to many for re-enactment shows where we set up, did the show and came home without me seeing anything of the towns visited - just the event fields - now I make a point of finding time to explore
