Every organized amateur sport has a governing body, and triathlon is no different. USA Triathlon presides over that multisport (as well as duathlon, aquathlon, and winter triathlon,) and they are located right here in Olympic City USA (as we like to call ourselves,) Colorado Springs, Colorado. In fact, the hotel where my girlfriend works shares the parking lot with USA Triathlon's headquarters.
In addition to picking and training our Olympic, Pan American, World Championship, and International teams, USA Triathlon also sanctions over 4300 races per year, and boasts over 500,000 members. The organization also conducts national camps, clinics, and provides education for coaches.
I love watching the fringe sports, and I always stop if I'm flipping through channels and come across a triathlon. Nice to know that the sport is in good hands.

I do remember that Colorado Springs is the National Headquarters for Cycling. Was not aware about the Triathlon being there which btw, I enjoy watching

I know Colorado Springs is HQ for ice skating at least for the museum anyway. Gymnastics also.

The Olympic Training Center is here (we had a track meet there when I was in high school. Best track I ever ran on!) The Olympic Committee headquarters are Downtown as well.
