Are there enough public bathrooms?

Do you think there are enough public bathrooms where you live? Or should there be more? Do you use them or do you wait until you get back home? Should all public parks also have bathrooms?
The City of Montreal once boasted an impressive fleet of 20 or so art deco-inspired public toilets, built in the 1930s to improve hygiene and create work during the Great Depression.

Good! Not enough over here. I think that each subway station should have some that the public can use. All parks should have some too.

We have plenty in the nearest city and even at the track where I walk, although I prefer my own. I've actually flown back and forth to Europe and am proud to say didn't once use the airplane bathrooms. I'm a germ freak.

I'm glad you have good control. I used to but now need to know where all the bathrooms are located wherever I go. It's the first thing I look for, just in case.

Here in Manila, I doubt if there are enough public restrooms. Even if there are, a majority of these aren't well-maintained.

Locally in the news, some nut has destroyed some public restrooms. The City and County will have cameras installed now on. I ride the bus so public restrooms is an important issue with me. Thanks to retailers like Target, Walmart and Walgreens that have restrooms with security guard on the job makes it safer too.

It's terrible that there are people that are so destructive. Glad the bathrooms in the major stores have someone keeping an eye on things.

@1hopefulman Absolutely! I need to have public restrooms, riding the bus only has it's downside.

Most of the time public parks will have a restroom. But it does sometimes surprise me that in busy areas there are usually not many public bathrooms. I mean, you CAN go into some businesses and use theirs. But some businesses don't consider their bathrooms are public, but for their patrons.

Yes, businesses and restaurants are like that over here. Some parks do have bathrooms but they are only open in the summer.

@porwest I know! It is a challenge as we get older for some of us. I know that some take pills so they don't have to urinate as much. I don't trust pills at all, as they help in one area and give you a number of side-effects.

@1hopefulman OK.. I read about these vegetables that they prevent hormon related cancer both for men and women.. then it is better eat them at home.. At least they are healthy.. Just found this article:
Broccoli helps to improve vision & digestive system, detoxify the body, maximize vitamin & mineral uptake, prevent allergic reactions, boost immunity, & protect the skin.

@buenavida Yes, they are good for our health and I include them in my diet. The problem is that I drink a lot of water and eat a lot of juicy fruits and vegetables. The solution is knowing where all the bathrooms are. However, in some ares there are none.

We need more here! In some areas, like shopping centers there are enough but many other areas they are few and far between.

@marguicha My closest shopping center is a 30 minute walk and if one is waiting for a bus then it can take more than 30 minutes to get there. I like to drink lots of water and that can be a problem. So, I have to wait till I'm home and will be staying there a few hours before I can drink my quota of water.

@1hopefulman It also happens here. But where I live there are so many malls and big shopping centers that I often wonder who has that much money.

@1hopefulman It was better last time we were there thank goodness. Restaurants and hotels had toilets but we didn't always want a coffee or a drink. Sometimes we just asked nicely if we could use the facilities. In Australia all service stations have toilets.

@JudyEv And do the service stations allow anyone to use it or do they frown if one is not buying gas or something else?

Here too we could use some, at least at each subway station. I'm curious to use one described in the news whenever they finish them. The article did not give a location and so I'll have to wait and see where they put them.

There is a decline in public toilets these days in the UK but you can use them in shopping malls, pubs or restaurants as long as you are buying something from them. I do not really like using public toilets but sometimes needs must !
