My Most Useless Purchase

My Robot Mower - Personal Photo

Two years ago, attracted by several ads, I bought a "Lawn Mower Robot". Our lawn is not vast, but I wanted a good robot I could trust. The vendor convinced me to buy the robot you can see in my photo. In two years I have never been able to use it. If the grass is wet, it stops. If the grass is too tall it refuses to cut, if there is a bump in the ground it stops. I spend more time moving it around, than the time needed to mow the whole lawn using my push mower. May be I was unlucky, but I paid a lot of money for a completely useless tool. Do you have a lawn mower robot, that does a good job?

@LadyDuck yeah not to your neighbor, you might find it mysteriously back in your lawn but in up side down position

It's a stubborn robot, I push it and it does not move of an inch. It's not so light at it seems.

@Morleyhunt Exactly! We spend more time taking care of things that should help us saving time than doing everything manually by ourselves.

I procrastinated, I thought I was doing something wrong and checking the different settings I would have been able to make it work. When I finally realized that it's not good for our garden it was too late to bring it back. I will sell it.

We have a very large lawn so it would not work for us here at least but that sounds like way too many issues to be worthwhile. Have you tried to contact the vendor?

I did, I think that those robots are only good to keep very short the lawn. If you mow the lawn first and then you run the robot every day, it maintains the lawn short. I am going to sell it.

I do not own the lawn mower robot ... because I do not have the lawn... (unfortunately) But, since I am a fan of new technologies, I probably would have made your own "mistake". (Ever I had the lawn) First of all I should know how much you paid for it. I'm saying this, dear Anna, because, just yesterday, I had to comment a really similar topic. But the object in question was a clean-floor robot. Was paid 99$. Forgive me, but from this I deduced that it could not be something very functional. A similar device in Italy is sold over € 1000

I paid around € 1,000 Alessandro, this is the price of a good robot and this brand was one of the best on the market. I am so angry about my mistake.

@alberello75 No it's not, because if I put it on the grass when it is trimmed it moves and cut a little more. But I do not need something like this. If I need to trim the grass, I do not need the robot.

I don't have a lawn mower robot but I've always wanted one to vacuum my floors. I certainly can see why you're frustrated with yours and a waste of money if it doesn't do the job.

I tried one to vacuum the floors, I brought it back to the store. May be if you have a one story home with very little furniture, no chairs and nothing around those things work.

@Marilynda1225 I've seen them go around furniture before, there they seem to work. Although I cleaned the house for a while that had one. I used a normal vacuum, but saw that one working once. That person's kids were gone and they kept their house pretty clean. It there's a lot of traffic or the floors getting dirty a lot possibly they wouldn't work as well either. Maybe people have YouTube videos of the week working well and not so well to see it both ways. Maybe there are videos of the lawn mower to

I never heard of these robots. It would be good if a person has a small, flat area. I always had an acre of land so that wouldn't work for me. Now in a senior village, we have a service that does it. It is nice looking though. Maybe you can sell it on ebay or something like that.

I did not try to return it because I am a procrastinator, I did not read the manual and tried once. I thought I made something wrong, put it aside and waited a long time before another try. The return date had expired. One of my neighbor is interested in buying it. They have a small flat lawn, it will work there.

@DianneN There are a few who bought the robot, but they all have a small and flat garden. Also the robot vacuum is not as good as the old traditional vacuum. I send it under the bed and the sofas.
