OMG! This is awesome. I had never thought about making jelly from what is growing wild. Yes its work but this honeysuckle jelly taste so freaking good! And the smell in the house! Tony even came in the kitchen when I was putting it in jars, waiting and watching, to lick the bowl, or rather beg for a few spoonfuls of warm jelly that smells so good. He fell in love with this jelly for sure. I gave him the dipping cup and the cooking pot and told him to get, while I put the lids on the jars. I will most certainly pick more honeysuckles. The recipe yielded 4 12/ pints. Have you ever tasted honeysuckles? Or jelly made from them?

I've spent time as a kid grazing the honeysuckles on my parents' lawn, but never had jelly from it. I'd definitely love to taste it!!!!

I don't know this plant. I wouldn't know where to get it. But I used to make a lot of jam and jelly from elderberries and blackberries we collected in the woods. Now I stick more to fruits I can buy at the market. Picking berries in the woods can be quite adventurous as you can read here: :-)
Many years ago I used to go with a friend to a nearby forest to pick blackberries. We did that always in September. My husband's birthday is in September and he...

Hey, its nice to see you here again! You put the blooms into boiling water, turn off the heat and let them set all night. Drain the blooms out and use the infused water, lemon juice, sugar and pectin.

I did not know you could make honeysuckle jelly. I have never tried it...I'm not even sure if honeysuckle grows here. But now I am curious about it! Does it taste anything like honey, or am I just thinking of Winnie the Pooh trying to eat honeysuckle?
