as a network admin,I have to play a lot with viruses ,worms and their solution offcourse. I checked all,McAfee,nod32,kaspersky,norton,AVG,and a few many..but i always recommend Only two.Its upto you which one you like to use.
1.Trend micro pc-cillin Internet security 2007
2. Panda Internet security 2007
They are best, best means best in all ways..personlly i like pc-cillin most rather then panda ..

I suggest you replace your current antivirus program to comodo antivirus although its freeware but it is complete version that has remote support from its server lab network that prevent hog in your system. If you compromising that antivirus is corporate version for you is no way or someway else due of its price you paid off that must not wasted better it's up to you. Take this future reference if someday your Mcaffe would be outdated then try this wonderful lifetime free protection visit their website at www.comodo.com
