This is so painful and annoying, frequently I have mouth ulcers, right now I have another one and I don't know what causes this but all the meds that I apply only reliefs the pain momentarily. Do you use to have mouth ulcers? Do you know what causes this and is there any thing we can do at home to heal it?

Usually when we bite them you get them or when you lack water in your body. What I do is gargle it with Listerine at night. They heal faster.

yes, you need to take Lysine for that. Take a pill or two a day when you feel it coming on and for a few days and it will either not develop or heal faster.

I had more when I was a kid. Some mouth ulcers are due by biting the cheek, or a too hard toothbrush. There are many other causes, viral infections or herpes are among the causes.

I brush my teeth energetically maybe it is because of that.

@nela13 This could be the cause, if it happens often.

I got them when I wore braces as a kid and when I bite the inside of my cheek. Ouch! I leave them alone, since the mouth heals itself quickly.

@nela13 hi dear, I have experienced this canker sores or mouth ulcer way back before, all I have to do is put a small amount of salt on the spot where have a canker sore, At first its so hurty but later on, it feels good. I do it 3x a day. 2-3 days it's already gone. Just try it, darling.

I get them if I eat too much sugar and my granddaughter had them recently. I find rinsing with salt water helps although I do have some preparation I buy at the chemist if they are really bad,

I don't know what a mouth ulcer is. I have from time to time had problems in my mouth, but it didn't last long, and healed quickly. I call them mouth zits. Probably not the correct term, but the only thing I can relate them to.

@nela13 Ocimum tenuiflorum, commonly known as holy basil, tulasi or tulsi, is an aromatic perennial plant in the family Lamiaceae. It is native to the Indian subcontinent and widespread as a cultivated plant throughout the Southeast Asian tropics. It is found in Trinidad and Tobago too. It is a sacred Hindu holy plant with 122 medicinal properties I take 8 leaves with a few drops of water in the palm of my hand, hold it up to the early morning Sun to be energized and then drink the water and eat the leaves. it prevents and cure cancer too, for which I am high risk.
