A Day to Reflect and Look Ahead

Today is a bonus, a time to reflect on the last ten months and then on the ten days ahead. The first draft of my book has gone to the editor, after ten busy months bringing it to this stage. After ten months of minimal attention my house will be the first thing to benefit from this new time space in my daily life. It's time for some serious housework.
At the same time, I'm feeling relaxed and looking ahead to my Australian outback adventure about to start tomorrow. The first stage of the trip is a mere hop, step and jump - a one hour flight to Auckland where I'll stay overnight. I'll then fly to Sydney Sunday afternoon, where I'll stay another night, before flying to Darwin on Monday.
I'm proud of what I've achieved in the last ten months and that I actually managed to finish this first stage of my book. There's still plenty of work to do when I return, but in the meantime I have a couple of weeks to relax.
I'm definitely ready for a holiday.
