Growing up, all I ever wanted was to be a mother. I didn't anticipate how difficult that would be. It tried for years to get pregnant experiencing disappointment after disappointment month after month. And when I finally did get pregnant I was alone. I raised my first daughter alone for two years. It wasn't easy but I am proud that I got through those years. Many times I questioned whether I was doing right by my girls. I am sure every mother questions whether they are doing a good job and I am no different. Being chronically ill only made my job as a mother more difficult and because of that I felt I wasn't being the best mother I could be. But now I look at these two beautiful girls and know that I sure did something right. My illness forced me to stay home with them instead of going back to work. I don't regret that. Home is where I needed to be. They are beautiful, smart, funny, loving, caring, sensitive, fun, and have made many right decisions. They've never been involved with smoking and drugs, and only dabble with alcohol. My illness forced me to stay home with them instead of going back to work. I don't regret that. Home is where I needed to be. They would not be who they are if I had not stayed home. I've always said being a mother is the hardest job in the world but the easiest one to get. Katelyn and Melanie are my greatest accomplishments. I thank God every day for blessing me with them. And of course none of this would be possible without MY mom. She gave the five of us a clean, comfortable, decorative home with her sewing and knitting skills. She cooked many a meal. She gave little advice but the advice she gave was very, VERY impactful. Her words still ring in my ears today. Without her, I would not be the person I am today. HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the moms out there.

Happy Mother's Day. I live in England and our Mother's Day is on a Sunday in March. So was my mum's 85th birthday. I miss my mum because she lives in a care home. I go to visit her as often as I can. I went on a holiday to Egypt in April 2017. I phoned my mum and she had gone to a temporary care home. I am lucky that I have a lovely 10 year old son and a wonderful 8 year old daughter. When I was 36 weeks pregnant with my son I found out he is disabled. I was very ill just after my daughter's birth and my mum helped me cope. She was born at home and then I was taken into hospital due to severe blood loss.

My mother is about to be transferred to her third residence in the past 10 years. This one will be fully assisted living. Happy Mother's Day!
