Another blessing...

God did it again... For some reason God uses complete strangers to do kind things for me, when I least expect it. Especially... If am down about someone that I know really well, and how they've treated me. Or a dream that has spiraled downward. One of my many disappointments in life...has been that I was never a mother. Plus... I don't even have mine around anymore. So... Needless to say, Mother's Day has never been my favorite holiday; especially since I've lost mine. I have all but forgotten the holiday, with the exception of the ads that I see on television, and print advertisements. Anyway... I just figured out last night that this Sunday was Mother's Day. So... I was just expecting to do what I usually do, and block it out of my mind. Today... I needed to go to Walmart to pick up some motor oil for my car. My car has been a great car. It's been the best car I have ever owned, and I would love to get another one, if I could. However... Because of the high mileage...it is starting to burn a little oil, and I need to add some, from time to time. Before I left the house, I placed a $20 bill in my bag to pay for the oil. When I arrived...I took that $20, and placed it in my pocket, then went inside Walmart to get my motor oil. As the cashier was finishing up my transaction, I pulled out the $20 to pay for the oil. However... It was not a $20 that was in my pocket. It was a $1 dollar bill. I told the cashier that I grabbed the wrong bill out of the car, and would be right back to pay for the products. She began to cancel the transaction, and hold my products for me. As I was returning to store from my car... A young man approximately in his late 20's...early to mid 30's was headed in my direction. I figured he was going to his car, so I stepped aside to let him pass me by. He stopped me, and said..."Here you go ma'am..." and handed me a bag. I said: "What's this?" He said: "It's the motor oil you were going to purchase. I purchased it for you." I said: "Really?" I hesitated. Took the bag, then thanked him. I was completely moved, and shocked. I never saw this coming. In fact... The man behind me was an older gentleman...so not sure where this guy was standing, when I realized that I did not have enough cash on me. How did he know where my car was parked in the lot? Walmart's parking lot is huge. Maybe he was waiting inside the store to see which direction I was going to return. I don't know... Before he left... He looked at me, smiled...and said: "Happy Mother's Day Ma'am... Enjoy your weekend." I thanked him again. For me... This was more than just someone doing a good deed for me. It meant much more. I never, ever, get remembered on Mother's Day...and for good reason. I have never been a mother. I was hoping to share this one with my friend this year, but she isn't speaking at the moment. I mean... We always have a great time together, so I am baffled by her silence again. And as mentioned in my prior post... Not sure how my birthday will turn out. But the point is this... God knew how sad I was, that I never became a mother. So He sent a proxy for me this year. A nice young man (who was at the age, that he could have easily been my own son)...who did a nice thing for me, in honor of Mother's Day. Motor oil is not exactly the most sentimental gift to receive. LOL However... This motor oil could have been a big bouquet of flowers, as far as I am concerned... Because of the fact...that this young man did something for me, that he did not have to do...and then do it in honor of a special day, that I've never had the privilege of being inducted into...
