do you also have posters and motorcades?

we're having local elections on monday (barangay elections and SK, sangguniang kabataan/youth council). lots of tarps and posters hanging on trees, poles, gates and fences. also motorcades loudly playing upbeat campaign jingles. this is not a national election, so there's no tv, radio and newspaper ads. how do candidates running for local or national positions campaign where you live?

It is horrible how the way they campaign. Here they even offer gifts and feast. Yes, announcement through road on vehicles, everything there, such an annoyance.

@Sreekala when the private vehicles they feel they've waited enough, they forced their way through. and i don't blame them. it should be give and take

There is here. Every street. I was aware of the election mania but forgot about it. I went to Cubao and it took me more time to reach my destination because of traffic.

@hereandthere I actually never thought it would be like that here. Because I am so used to having the loud noises in Makati when we were living there and in Caloocan when I was still single

Yes and one candidate just had their motorcade with other hopefuls. This morning it was the other candidate for barangay chairman that had the motorcade. Both of them had their schedule to run their vehicles- some in motorcycles so you can just imagine how noisy it was while ago.

@hereandthere really? but isn't it you live in the capital city? so the long motorcade had you wait for the last of the vehicles to pass by?

@ridingbet yes, in a residential area, but not closed/exclusive. private and public vehicles pass through so they were annoyed and would break the line.

Here they do not hang posters, they only campaign through the TV and the newspapers. In Italy they place wire frames were to hang the posters, that can stay only a limited time. No loudly playing jingles are allowed.

@hereandthere The posters are removed by the municipalities the week after elections. I am glad we do not have noisy jingles.

Not so much Hokuspokus like in the Philippines during election. There is only news in the tv and newspapers. No motorcades and not many posters in the streets. Election in Germany is very quiet. No "rain" if you know what I mean.

@hereandthere through the tv. The politicians don´t campaign like how it is done in our home country and in the USA.

Well, most of them do the house to house campaign, I don't mind at all because it is easy for me to recognize them and observe how they deal with people. I am not sure if I'm ready to vote this Monday.

Motorcades of candidates everywhere, but the flyers were just too much. Why can't they just put he candidates names and reminder when the election is.
