Diary Friday 11th May 2018 An awkward day as a company dealing in administration work has summoned me onto a four day pre-interview screening programme to be followed by an interview for work with them. I have no idea what the company actually doe but they are based two buses and ninety minutes journeying away, a journey that will involve travelling on two buses each run by separate companies. I had other appointments on the first day of this mandatory course / training / evaluation, but when I mentioned them I was threatened with welfare sanctions if I don’t attend it, so I have had to cancel other appointments to attend this from Monday. At least the assessment week activity is closer to home and only one bus away, not two. The cheap food collection from the community centre was held today, moved due to the bank holiday weekend jut gone. This is lucky as the course next week means I won’t get to the food collection on Tuesday. Diary Saturday 12th May 2018 A busy but happier day today as I was invited to a friend’s wedding in Manchester. I travelled early by train to visit my Mum on route and she is coping well with her illness and restrictive movement. The wedding itself was lovely, with a great reception and food buffet. I caught a train home about 8.30pm and got home by 11pm. Arthur Chappell

Two buses and 90 minutes away is a long way to go.

@allen0187 I agree, it would be too much for a very basic income

So glad you got to attend the wedding, and so happy to hear of your Mum doing okay. Gosh that is really something you have to attend that long thing for that job..a maybe job even..that is such an inconvenience those buses..I know how that can be.

Weddings can be lovely. It will be hard going transportation wise if you get that job -- hope the salary compensates.

@Kandae11 me too - in a way it will be better if I don't actually get the role

My brother called me yesterday to let me know he was going to attend the marriage of one of his best friends... he is divorced and now he is marrying with his young boyfriend. I knew from a long time, he only married a woman because of his family.
