Its another Mom day

All the Moms in my life. Grandmas but cause of this particular day, the Moms in my life. They're all there as I go through my day, puzzling out gardening tasks, baking bread and fashioning pies, staring at another fur ball mess, polishing a dresser, buttoning a blouse.
All their names: hello Cathryn, Carol, Doris, Sylvia, Nor Nor cause I couldn't pronounce her name- the one that I was named after, sisters that kept me upright. They walk with me today as I barrel through grief and thanks and acknowledgement.

I was at mom's house today and it felt like she was there with me. It saddens me that all her junk ... you know, paper clips, nails, rubberbands, pencils, pens, coupons and other such things ..... needs to be either recycled or tossed. Today I felt she was talking to me trying to give me reasons not to throw away those old greeting cards her sisters sent her so many decades ago. But I have enough of my own junk and don't have room for hers. Life bites sometimes.

@rebelann What a heart ache. I hear you. Those precious cards from your Mom's sisters. Such joy in those when your Mom got them in the mail and yet how to keep all that stuff?? My Mom probably has cards from when I was a kid. Not joking. Hugs to you.

@rebelann When my Mom was here with us I found that she had a cedar chest that was filled with old photo albums from the 1930s. Photos of folks that she did not have a name for any more and I sure don't. I have a couple cabinets filled with porcelain pieces. My daughter will have the fun of figuring out what to do with what will not interest her when I am gone. Plus journals and more journals.

I never knew my grandmas so I only have my mom but I certainly had a couple of maiden aunts who were like second and third mothers to me.
