I was wondering and maybe this is a dumb question I should already know, is Mother's Day celebration universal ? Like are we one of the few countries that celebrate it or do all countries?

All countries I believe. Mylot is a diverse group of people from every corner of the globe and today they all acknowledge Mother's Day and discuss their own celebrations of it, so I believe it's an international celebratory day.

No, it is not a universal celebration. Many countries in Europe celebrate the same day as you do (second Sunday of May), UK is the fourth Sunday of Lent.. In France it's the first Sunday of June, in Norway 2nd Sunday of February. Some Eastern European Countries celebrate the 8th March (Women's Day). Other countries I do not know.

There is no culture of Mother's day celebration in our country. I don't remember it from my growing up days. It has become popular in last decade as world has become a global village and influences from other exposure have increased. Social media has played a significant role. Also someone on myLot from UK mentioned in other discussion thread that they had it in March. So I don't think it is universal but definitely is celebrated in many countries across the globe
