Missing female companionship

Do you prefer the company of the opposite sex rather than your own? It wasn't my plan but most of my life I have been surrounded by males , and we get along just fine - but sometimes I do miss female companionship. Since 2015 I have been living at the family home in the country which is occupied by my brother -in-law and two nephews - my apartment is separate. Before that I lived in the city with my son. Growing up I remember my seven uncles and three aunts - and I have five nephews and one niece. Do you have more males or females in your immediate family?

I've been the only girl in my family for generations. My husband had two brothers, I have two bothers, and I have two sons, a grandson, and our ice princess. Now I'm blessed with not only my granddaughter, but two fabulous daughters-in-law.

I will have to wait until I get a daughter-in-law - till that time it's only my niece.

I like to hang around with nice people, the gender or age is not important.

In my immediate family, there is Anne and there is me. My daughter is around sometimes. I play ping pong with a mixed group, including some males that I can call friends, though we really don't do anything else together. Men, especially as they get older have a hard time making new friends.

@Kandae11 Mostly for working guys and I don't play golf. I really don't miss the company of men truthfully, after working in a very competitive world for many years.

Men usually join various clubs - or maybe there aren't many in your area.

I think we're pretty evenly matched with just one more girl. I have two sons and a daughter. Three grandsons, two granddaughter, and two great granddaughters.

There seems now to be a good balance, but when I was growing up it was mostly males. I have 4 brothers, one of my aunts has five boys, another aunt has two boys. I was the only girl growing up with 3 of my brothers and eight male cousins. I have a sister but her and I never grew up together or even knew about each other until our adult years. My fourth brother is her brother by my fathers second marriage. Now there is a good balance of males and females. I have three neices and two daughters as well as six nephews. I also have a grand neice and three grand nephews.

Yes, you do have a good balance there. My two sisters and are close in age, so they were the only female friends I had during our teenage years - later we all went our separate ways.

I have five siblings and only one is a brother. I have three sons, five grandsons and two granddaughters so I'm surrounded by females too. I get along with males or females so it's all okay.

My best companion was the boyfriend when we are still friends and same as you, I also like the companionship with a male because they don't backbite and they can be protective of you. I also have female friends surround me.

@responsiveme - yes - back in the city. However those friendships are not strong enough to make them want to travel over 200 miles to visit - they are occupied with their own lives and families.

Funny that you asked that since I just realized that I never really considered the genders of my friends and relatives. They are just good ones and bad ones to me. Perhaps I am surrounded by more females than males? (I tend to avoid people in general, so they could be there but I still ignore them in a sense. Don't take me wrong, I smile and chat to everyone, but they are not really there to me.)
