Cat Help A'Comin'

When I was Director of Religious Education at a local church years ago, one of the teenagers in our program used to spend a lot of time in my office. She was a strange little thing, didn't have a lot of friends and loved to ramble on and on about anything and everything. I guess, because I liked and loved just about everyone, she felt safe in my office. All these years later, she's now happily married with a black cat of her own and she's a master at so many things! She's pretty brilliant and I enjoy spending time with her. She's been reading my FB accounts of the problems with my own black cat. She really loves him and calls herself his Auntie, so when she saw that the problems have been continuing, she contacted me to say she'd be happy to come here and help train him to be nicer to me! She's also going to help me put together a cat tree for him. I think he'd love that. So, in a week or so she will be here and we'll see how things go. I'm hoping she can give me a lot of help. I've also stumbled upon the website of a veterinarian who seems to understand cats like Timothy. He gives some advice along the way and I'm going to be implementing some of the ones that won't cost me any money. One thing he did mention that I never thought of as a means of getting a cat to stop bad behavior is a can of compressed air! I've used it on my keyboard, as many people do, and I did notice that it got my cat's attention. I guess I'll have to see how it works as a deterrent!
