What on earth can that cord be?

We’re sitting in a caravan park in Esperance, Western Australia, and will soon be heading north to Norseman then east to Fraser Range when we plan to spend tonight. Vin had organised some music on a gadget which plugged into the cigarette lighter. I need to thank several myLotters for starting us thinking along those lines.
So partway through yesterday’s journey we decided it was time to listen to some music and, although we’d had the cord we needed in the front seat, it seemed to have disappeared and we couldn’t find it – at least not while we were driving. When we stopped for petrol, I was looking on the floor in case we’d missed it and I found the cord sitting on the driver’s seat. Vince had been sitting on it. No wonder we couldn’t find it!
Another example of how easy it is to misplace things and how frustrating it can be. The photo is of a lovely man-made billabong we found when we took a drive through the Ravensthorpe Range. Sorry I’m not reading and commenting but I have very limited time at the moment.

@judyev I must remember to check under me first next time something goes missing. A common reply here (and no doubt there too) to the question “where is such and such?” is “Well it’s not up my a&se”. And I do love the word billabong. I’ll be saying it all day.

Many have commented on 'billabong'. I keep getting caught out on what is Aussie and what isn't.

I am glad you found the cord alright. I looked up the word billabong, since I have heard it but had no idea what it meant. I was looking at that pond thinking "Where's the billabong?" Ohhh that billabong!

Billabong is also a brand of clothing now. I didn't think to explain 'billabong'. The iconic Australian song Waltzing Matilda mentions a billabong too. The swagman jumps into it when the troopers accuse him of sheep-stealing.

@JudyEv - So THAT is what a billabong is. I have heard the word used, but had no idea what one it. Yes, it is very lovely. By the way, you may want to check out my latest post. It is about the book our former My Lot friend, Elizabeth Wallace, wrote and has now published!

@JudyEv - Yes, it is very easy to fall behind on MyLot. If I am busy for a couple of days, the number of notifications can be overwhelming!

@DeborahDiane Mine come on emails so I never lost them. I think I have another 30 odd emails to go. Each email has more than one notification of course.

Glad you are having a good trip. It is very easy to misplace items when on a trip and have them show up in some strange place.

@JudyEv so that means billabongs only get water form the rain?

@epiffanie Actually they are the pools that remain when a waterway dries out over summer. I forgot that earlier.

You call a small lake a billabong? Is that an aboriginal name?

Just the other day I was in a panic because I could not find my phone, and then when I jumped out of the truck to look under the seat, I realized I'd been sitting on my phone the whole time!
I never knew a billabong was an actual thing, although I should've expected it. To many people here in the United States, Billabong is a popular surfboard company.

@JudyEv If my phone would have rang or vibrated while I was sitting on it, let's just hope it wouldn't have given me a tingly feeling. That would be kind of weird and perverted! lol

That's funny! My Dad always sits on the TV remote and it winds up underneath the chair cushion.
