Sleeping my way through laundry

The last couple of weeks, I've been having major sleep problems again. I've become a zombie and I really hate it. Because I just can't sleep when I'd like to (at night), I try to grab naps here and there, but they turn into 10 hour naps. Not the best idea. Last night I tried once again, in vain, to sleep and my brain just would not shut down. I took my sleeping pill and it just didn't take hold. So I decided to stay up and wear myself out. I watched the Mass when it came on TV this morning and then I grabbed my laundry basket and headed downstairs. I brought my knitting with me, as well, since Timothy just wants to eat the yarn and needles. I had the laundry room all to myself. The windows were open and the breeze was SO delicious! I began knitting and pretty soon I felt like I was sleeping with my eyes open. People came into the room and I had no idea until they were practically on top of me! It was ridiculous! As soon as the two dryers were done, I came back up here and went directly to bed. And I slept for about 5 hours. Of course, it's 10:30pm now and I'm sure I'll be waking right up soon! That sounds like me except I never get up. I lay there and suffer.

I learned a long time ago not to stay in bed more than an hour if I can't sleep. Funny how I can sleep all day, though. I hate this!

Same here. As everyone else is sleeping, so just toss and turn and keep trying.

oh it's very hard! I've managed it a few times and then my brain decides it wants to come back to this insanity. So here I go again!

That sounds familiar. I have trouble going to sleep, then when I get to sleep I want to sleep all day. It's very frustrating. If I didn't have commitments enough to interrrupt it, I think I'd try staying up as late as I could, sleeping in as late as I could, then staying up as late as I could again and so on until the cycle was set so I could go to sleep at the proper time. I don't know if that would work, but I'd like to try it.

I have reset this inner clock so many times and yet my brain seems to come right back to this. I can only keep trying. I'm so sorry you go through it, too!

@CRK109 I have never been able to reset it because my schedule interrupts it. One of these days I will be able to try it anyway. Maybe we're from a different planet where our days and nights were longer or something?

I do that sometimes, too, although they say that's the worst thing to do. I try to make a cup of tea and read a book for a while. Of course, I'm completely addicted to the internet, so I'm sure this is part of my problem, too. Right now my eyes are killing me but I can't stop typing! lol
