If you are invited to a party but you don't want to go, what do you tell the person inviting you?

I would say that I'm busy so I can't go to the party. I believe if others invite you we shouldn't hurt their feelings by telling them you don't want to go, but sometimes telling the truth is a good idea. If you are invited to a party but you don't want to go, what do you tell the person inviting you?

Have to find out a reasonable and acceptable reason as an excuse. Bit hard though not impossible.

My favourite problem is stomach pain or indigestion. I most of the time use it as an excuse.

I seem to get invited to many parties and to be frank they just bore me. Perhaps I have become a snob but I came to Thailand to be with Thai people and not a bunch of old foreigners (LOLlike me) talk about what is wrong here and there and just continual complaining. I will usually tell them to line me a reminder as I may forget. And even with the reminder, I will still manage to forget!

Instead of telling on face , I would prefer staying away from the party by not attending....we can give excuses instead of speaking harsh on his face who is inviting us

I will tell them that I actually have another event on that day which I had been booked way in advance and hence I could not reject that event and apology for not able to attend the party.
