How can one survive on a low income, say one is just making a little bucks here and there, how can one really survive with that without having to beg for assistance?

Low income jobs are not meant to support a single adult let alone a family. low income jobs or low skilled jobs are starter jobs to give basic experience to teenagers (15 or 16 depending on where you live) so they can have some money to save up for a car, have some fun, etc, all while still living at home with parents who are responsible for the actual bills.

That depends on the situation. Does this person have a place to stay? Anyone to help out, at least a little? What is needed? Food, clothing, utility bills, housing? There are so many ways to make and save a little, but if the situation is very desperate, one would have to get help from somewhere Food can be foraged from the wild, gotten for free when grocery stores trim their produce, gleaned from fields after farmers are through, and so on. A place to stay can be a car, or a bed at the homeless shelter or a bed in a friend's home. Or a low income housing unit... Here, clothing is free from several clothing banks. You don't have to be poor even to take advantage of that. Make money by recycling aluminum and other metals, glass, etc. Offer to babysit, mow lawns, pull weeds, run errands, walk the dog... All of these things may not be available in your area, but some of them surely will be.
