I normally visit two Hyper Market stores for my Grocery Needs as well as some additional things like Kitchen appliances, a few clothes, and a few more things. Each had its own characteristics and I liked that uniqueness. However, one of them named Big Bazaar has got over the other named as Hypercity in a big deal- over INR 5000 Millions- roughly 75 Million USD at current terms. Hypercity was under can other group named Shoppers stop and was making losses. Now to some, the above information would not matter much. However, to me the different formats, unique products was something I looked forward to. But now, things are moving towards uniformity. I hope that the Buying chain I. e Big Bazaar keeps some uniqueness of Hypercity.

do you really need to have hypermarkets? Aren't hypermarkets causing the consumerism?

@Mavic123456 well in some ways yes but we enjoy picking multiple things too.

unfortunately, it's happening here, too. the dominant supermarket chain (savemore) is also taking over other smaller grocery chains.
