I just got done doing Harley dogs nails. Since there is no pavement around she doesnt have anything to walk on that helps file them down. So we end up doing them either every other week or every three weeks. We use the sanding drum on the Dremel and do it. She's gotten pretty used to them getting done that way and so she's actually pretty good about it. However today she was a little fidgety when I did her back toes. Do you do your dog/cats nails or do you pay someone to do them?

I sadly don't do them enough.. And I was just trying to cut my OLD Collie's nails a few days ago.. I got a few and then one of them got the quick on.. I gave him a break after that.. I need to get some styptic powder before trying it again.

@thislittlepennyearns I haven't tried that and not sure they would sit still for that.

I do the ones I can but if Duke ( 80 pound doberman) ever needs his done I will take him to the vet. Depending on the dog decides if I grind or clip.

We've done grinding with Harley since she was a few months old.

@thislittlepennyearns I did not get Duke until he was over a year old. He is getting better but still very touchy about having his feet held. I know I would have to clip to as he shows no sign of getting used to the grinder when I am doing the other dogs nails. Thankfully right now his nails stay in good shape

I cut my cat's nails. Every time I cut her nails, I will be very careful for fear that I will hurt her.

We've never used clippers with her. Don't want to.

I have clippers for my Harley but I am scared to use them, he needs his done badly. Roscoe does not seem to have a problem with his.

I much prefer the Dremel. I would be scared is hit the quick with the clippers.
