No training wheels!

Now this is something that I've forgotten to mention. My eldest has been riding her bike with no training wheels for a little over a week now. That is her in the picture, sitting on her bike. She's definitely so happy to be doing it. She's got it down. She's not scared at all. This week, she's come home from school and has been on her bike for the most part. So proud of her.

I think once kids get the balance then they're all set. That's the tricky part about it.

Well done her! She looks so proud. I remember the first time that I rode a bike unaided. Training wheels hadn't been invented in my day and the way we learned was by someone holding on to the saddle and running behind. At some point the person keeping you steady would either get tired or reckon that you were ready and let go and then you'd either wobble and fall off or, with great surprise and elation, realise that you had made it to the other end of the path on your own. I did acquire a fair amount of grazed knees, elbows and hands in the process (which required washing and the application of hydrogen peroxide which stung like mad) but it was well worth it!

She is really proud for sure. My husband taught her the same way. Running next to her and holding the seat.

wow, congratulations to her! That's definitely going to give me the motivation to try to learn to ride my bike without the training wheels. I figure after all these years it's about time I took the training wheels off of my bike! lol

@dodo19 But I don't want to fall and scrape up my hands and knees!!!! By the way, can you please work your Canadian magic and make the Winnipeg Jets win their hockey game tonight? I don't want Vegas to win just quite yet, or else they'll get too much rest going into the Stanley Cup Finals!
