Put This In Your Song, Alanis Morissette!

As I was driving into work this morning, listening to the radio, there was an interview with some of the people who are camping on the streets of Windsor in anticipation of tomorrow's Royal nuptials.
One woman in particular caught my attention. This was a lady who has flown from Nashville, Tennessee on no less than 16 occasions to witness various Royal events. And when I say witness, I use the term very loosely as I suspect she has spent most of her time staring at the back of other people's heads.
She was camping out, in the streets, overnight to hopefully snatch a fleeting glimpse of two people she doesn't know arriving at, or departing from, their wedding venue!! She has done this kind of thing 15 times before.
When asked what she thought of the many, many people in the UK who couldn't give a damn about this particular occasion her reply was, "These people need to get a life".
And they say Americans don't do irony!!!

Indeed there isn't!
I'm just horrified at how many people have flown into the country for this. Harry and Meg's (she loves it when I call her that!!) carbon footprint must be the size of Yosemite National Park on the back of this!!

@wordazza I'll bet the Queen's thinking to herself, "Thankfully at my age I shalln't have to sit through too many more of these dreadful pantomimes". Then she might ponder a while on the word shalln't which doesn't really look right, and she'll decree that it ought to be spelled 'shant', and she can do that since it's the Queen's English, not anyone else's.

Maybe this gal is actually a pick-pocket @WorDazza . Granted, going from the US to England just to do that is a little crazy, but still......if she's really good at it, that would be like winning the lottery.

Holy Trumpville! Sixteen times! She truly does have quite a "life" (and a lot of reward miles too).

Awww, bless the silly little sausage. Does she realise that the royal family don't care about her??

She has chosen a 'strange' life. Wow! Which lifetime will I camp out to see which royal wedding? And 15 times?
The only thing that can shed some light, is the novelty of camping out and absorbing the hush and expectant atmosphere.
Remind me of when I once went to see Wrestling live in T&T. We got in late, we had to climb a rig poll 15 feet to watch a ring with two wrestlers 1 mile away. Ha Ha, funny event. We saw nothing. But it had such an impact on me.
Lastly, that woman has 'put power outside of herself' If she thinks that supporting 'royalty' add to the quality of her life, then she seriously need to revisit herself. I wonder, on her deathbed, who'll come to visit her?

Not the Royal Family that's for sure!!
Your story about the wrestling reminds of my father and what he and his friends used to do to watch the wrestling for free when they were children. They used to climb up the drainpipe of the wrestling hall and crawl along the roof to watch through the ventilation shaft which was situated directly above the ring.
Not sure wrestling was worth risking your life for!!

@Gita17112016 I'm with Freud. There are some things you can't change but what you can change is your perception of those things.
I used to massively enjoy boxing when I was younger. Still do to some extent but most boxing is only televised on pay TV channels which i refuse to subscribe to!! So I don't get to watch much these days.

@WorDazza I think she is confusing 'Royal people' with 'important people' in her life. Sadly, the psychologists will say 'this is how she sees people seeing her'. She is surrounded by important people. And she is defining herself by it. So sad.
Freud will probably tell her 'wake up and smell the coffee' . Freud believed that if your perceptions changes then you will change (and problem solve).
Wrestling is worth it. I must have by quota of violence each day! It's therapeutic for me. (Not kidding).

@YrNemo I suppose there are some, particularly younger girls, who will be thinking that if it can happen for Meghan it can happen for them! But seriously, who would want that sort of life? Your life really isn't your own once you step into the British Royal Family!!

@WorDazza I am sort of sick with anything re: news about that actress turning Duchess. Should we care if her brother or whoever in her family couldn't attend her wedding? How many people tried to warn her off from marrying the prince and now begging her to let them attend her wedding? I think I was more anxious when Prince Andrew married that journalist, against the queen's wish (I was much younger at the time, and wanted a fairytale wedding). The young lady got a hard time that time didn't she? In the end, what happened? A mess!
