Back from the dreaded and useless job interview. The four day course which I passed was leading to this nonsense. I’m pretty sure I failed. Still not told who the company are - that is only released if I'm successful enough to reach the follow up interview apparently. I got there in plenty of time and had to be approved by the agency rep - he was turning away anyone dressed badly or who didn't have their CV's. I got through, feeling like I'd got past the bouncers to get into a nightclub. He asked me to give him an assessment of the other candidates I’d met during the course, which I refused to do. It's not my job to ruin someone else’s chances. The interviewer started telling me what the company does, the city by city locations of its offices, that its split between the warehouse and its admin - they import goods from abroad for distribution to major supermarket stores etc. It seemed to go pleasantly enough until he hit me with a memory test. He asked me what his name was, as he'd told me when I went in. I forgot. He asked me which towns he'd told me they have branches in - I remembered three of the four, Preston, Manchester and Birmingham. He told me he needs people to be 100% and that I'll find out how I went on next Wednesday but I think it’s pretty obvious he already decided I'm down with early onset Alzheimer's or too many lapses in concentration to consider so I think it is safe to say game over. I asked him the name of the company. He told me that is only shared at the next stage with successful applicants. I now no longer care who the company is. Apparently, they need people with photographic memories, willing to report other staff for any failings or mistakes and a no question asked attitude. I feel sorry for any of the course candidates who pass the unexpected tests. Arthur Chappell

I think interviewer decides far before the interaction ends. it is a bit quirky thing. Many times i had disagreement with interviewer which my friends later told me was reason of my rejection on the ground of my attitude.

@suripunj Yes I expect he had already decided not to like me by that stage but the feeling was mutual - I hated their lack of transparency

thats an odd interview! I'm bad with names but have a great photographic memory otherwise! I can remember all the details to just about anything, but the actual names are kinda EH! I'll be like that German guy etc!"

Companies like this are usually ones not worth wanting to work for anyways. I applied for a job once where the Resume was so good they kept on calling me even after I was denied after the 1 Interview and Acing the computer part of the Test. But the hiring manager was a Jerk and told me he would not hire me, and even when they switched managers, etc I kept on telling everyone I was not interested

@KrauseHome that is bizarre. You would think they would have it filed that you had already turned them down

That sounds like a job that you can do without.

I think he will get you for not remembering his name.

What a horrible kind of job, I would never like to do something like this. They could have told before they needed someone with a great photographic memory. They would have spared people to waste their time.
