If you want to believe that you just 'beam right up to Heaven's fluffy gates,' that's fine ... the way memory works in Heaven, you don't remember anything before 'that present moment*' anyway; so it's almost the same. But 'what actually happens' is more like this (I was thinking of this, and a 'what if there's no god'-discussion http://www.mylot.com/response/3182262/19677884 reminded me of it): the only part of you that "believes" anything is dead---buried in the ground, cremated, whatever. The same happens with any part of you that makes you "you." (All your work, your writings & your offspring are merely 'projections & echoes of you'). What 'actually happens' after that (before you're 'lifted up'---whether you think Jesus levitates you out of the ground or Dr. Frankenstein sews you together & lightning strikes or whatever) ... is probably nothing. If you were 'conscious,' it would feel like "waiting." But it's probably ... You know how--when you fall asleep but don't dream and just wake up and it feels like you were only out for an instant--you're fully-refreshed? It's like that. *(I almost typed 'meow-ment'---maybe I'm subconsciously mourning my cat Booger, who's "purring contentedly in Jesus' lap" right now )
