The Unseen Binding Thread

Unite as One

We are a single race, but we may think we are different going by looks and beliefs. However, we are reminded often that we are same, more similar than what we give credit for. Right from time immemorial great souls have surfaced from everywhere and their lives have inspired us. When I deal with strangers, I am struck by how similar they think and behave though they had a different cultural background. Politics tend to divide us but we are truly borderless; we share the one planet and universe. Sites like this unite us as we can interact with others irrespective of where they are from. The empathy, understanding, and even bantering, reinforce the bond of oneness. We are here for a while and let us carry memories of a united ride and leave out those not in our domain till we visit them. Let us listen and hear the inner voice, prompts, that are clear. Martin Luther King’s stirring words are worth remembering: “We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.” It pays to stay united and we have more than what we need to survive and even enjoy. Share the good vibes; the more the darkness, the brighter will be light we shine. Do you think we tend to forget the thread that binds us as one? Image: Unite as One from Wikimedia Commons

We are actually connected to each other but people astray when they think they are any better. Sad that there are people who discord themselves from the chain.

I recall one astronaut telling - there are no borders seen from space; just a beautiful, enchanting, planet. That is how we were created and meant to live, but we have barricaded ourselves into different camps - siva

@Shiva49 I hope that people will see things in a bigger perspective but knowing people having their own minds, moving away from the chain because they have a choice to astray. But I totally agree with you, Siva. Thank you.

@mlgen1037 Let the oneness of humanity prevail but let not the uniqueness in each of us be stifled. That we can think and act differently prove that unity is enhanced by our diversity - siva

It is easy to find that binding thread in a virtual world where we do not know much about who we are interacting with. We go by common interests.

@Shiva49 There is a situation where we need to 'tolerate' each other for survival and where that is not the case I see no reason why I should suffer someone's company. We have choices. Don't we? Do you think a teenager(stranger) will spend time with a senior in a real world which we see abundantly in the virtual world?

I hope that can be translated into the real world of face-to-face interactions and coexistence. Personally, I live my life the same way and can feel the pulse and presence of the binding thread - what I will call the divine energy - even in those who disagree with me - siva

@allknowing We should live our lives the way we are comfortable with. We also change every five years or so as life teaches us along the way. I align my behavior with my inner voice and that way I find fulfillment. That also ensures I remain true to my ideals. Yes, we need to tolerate others to move towards peaceful coexistence - siva

Wise words as usual, Siva. Many do forget the threads that bind us, which is very, very sad.

We are bedeviled by suspicion to the extent we doubt even our shadows. It so happens neighbors are the worst enemies for some countries due to politicians fishing in troubled waters. And then the arms merchants out to make a killing followed by the real killing! siva

I agree that we tend to forget that we are all alike really. Human nature is much the same the world over.

I believe there will be a higher realization and an upliftment of awareness soon that the agenda, that influences all other agenda, is plainly unjust to the vast majority of people who are used as tools - siva

There can be no enmity between the common folks of one country and another. They are busy to survive and want to be left alone. All the divisions and wars are forced upon them by those who benefit through arms deals. We see few others keeping them at loggerheads for their benefit - siva

The only thing that truly unite us humans is that innate goodness or righteousness .. We can't be one with those who are disconnected from the righteousness that is born with them ..

Agreed, it is tough to find common ground with those who are quite the opposite of us in outlook. The only way then is to shine our light, set an example so that they too come around to our point of view eventually - siva

Thanks. I again recall Martin Luther King's soul-stirring words "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." Hope that day is not far off and everyone has equal right to live and pursue their dreams - siva

Someone (I can't remember who) had said it perfectly when he said; "We are all connected like the rooms of a house. Each room is individual, but it is part of the whole. The air in the kichen is the same as the air in the bedroom, bathroom...etc. When the window in the kitchen is open, the wind sends ripples through the entire house, affecting the energy/air of all.

There are no borders and birds fly across even continents and feel at home. The atmosphere makes sure we have air to breathe without a pause. Our survival is assured by nature giving all for our sustenance; we only value add. We have every reason to be grateful for the blessings showered on us - siva
