Hey, I know this one, it's a Hollyhock

Just about the only flower I know will grow here is the Hollyhock. The first few years were the best as they grew all over the place but as the droughts hit many dried up plus a couple wabbits moved into the neighborhood and have feasted on some of these tasty blossoms. So, this year I have a few of the shorty's coming up and if I can get down low enough I ought to be able to get a few more shots ...... it's been windy lately so taking photos isn't an option.

There was a time my garden was full of seasonal flowers including hollyhocks but now because of too many trees around seasonal flowers make a fuss.

@rebelann I am all for trees and I do not mind if seasonal flowers do not do well. Trees are the need of the hour the world over.

I can't imagine having too many trees, I'd love to have more but they are hard to grow here.

I keep meaning to plant them. Drat! I see them in the gardens where I walk and love them.

The hummingbirds love them too, that's why I like it if they grow.

How funny, if it had nothing to do with the flower then what else would be a hollyhock?

I love hollyhocks. They are beautiful against a good backdrop like a brick wall or trellis. I grew some a few years back and they did well, but fell over when it got windy.

I love them too especially when the hummers come around for the nectar.

My grandma had those growing up the side of the garage every year. We used to use toothpicks to make dolls out of the blossoms and heads. What a nice thing to remember on a Sunday, I'm glad you posted that!

It is beautiful. I didn't realize rabbits would eat them. Of course, I am not shocked either.

I have to wonder if the only reason they eat them is because not much else grows here, I just can't figure out why they don't eat the weeds

Once the wabbits discover your plants, you might as well give up. At least that's been my finding.
