NO! An Optical mouse is sooo much better!
I love mine, it never stops working or needs cleaned.

I prefer the optical mouse. I feel the life of the ball mouse is less, even if you do proper maintenance of the ball and the rollers!
I don't know if there is any technical or responsive difference between the two - I haven't noticed any.

No way. Optical's the way to go. The standard mouse gets dirty and stops working well after a while. An optical mouse is fabulous! And you don't need a mouse pad.

I much prefer my optical mouse...even if I do have to change batteries in it. I'm always sure to have a supply of them on hand at all times.

Optical mouse because it lasts for really long .... ans its of good quality also than a similar priced wheel mouse.
