Not really sure why adults don't climb trees..it is a fun thing to do, however, if you saw an adult in a tree who wasn't there for work of some kind or to retrieve a kite or something you would immediately think they were psycho. I see trees sometimes that look very climable but I think what I would think if I saw an adult in a tree, so I restrain myself. I think one of the resasons though is that you are bigger and heavier than you were as a child and it is easier for bracnhes to break under your weight. One time when I was about 7, I was climbing a tree in the bakc yard..and a tree branch that looked fine on the outside must have been partly rotten..and I fell maybe 15 feet to the ground. I was fine, but I did get the wind knocked out of me..it was a scary few minutes. Did you ever get the wind knocked out of you? It is not a pleasant feeling.

I hardly even see kids climbing trees these days, thankfully. as it may be fun but certainly isn't safe. I never fell from one, though did climb one when playing tag outside that is no longer here.

I think kids should be allowed to do kid things. We mollycoddle our kids too much these days in my opinion. Kids that can play independently learn to become independent adults Just my two cents..don't want to debate it...

@snowy22315 yes they should, but wouldnt really call that kid things just because we did them as kids ourselve. But right no need to debate. I replied to your discussion nicely, and stated my opinion. Thats all.

Not much to learn, just grab a solid branch and up you go..make sure you have somehting solid under your feet though..testing a branch to make sure it is solid is usually the best.

@snowy22315 Well, it is worth a try. No one is too old for tree climbing. Thank you, Snowy. I appreciate that.

Yep, I think falling out of trees is responsible for a few broken arms and collar bones..scars too!

I have lost count of the number of times I may have fallen from trees as a kid. We had a lot of trees in out backyard and I would love climbing on the mango trees and sitting as high up as possible.

Never and we are not allowed to climb trees because they are usually full of red ants..

Oh yes! About 16ft out of a crabapple tree I finally hit branches that were too small to support my weight anymore. Down I went. Right into a beautiful bed of rock waiting for me below.

I was actually restricted when I was younger, I am a sickly kid so my parents do not allow me to those things. But I became more active when I finished college. I webt to the gym and climb mountain. I want ti test my limits. So in the mountain, we usually also ckimb some trees
