Mowing Again and Other Stuff

I've seen my neighbor out mowing his lawn for the past three days. He must have the best mowed lawn in the neighborhood. I was going to write a post anyway, but he caught my attention, so I had to take a picture and write. I didn't get much done here for notifications and interaction yesterday, thanks to my stiff and painful back. I saw more action in my recliner. Today, I've decided to change things up a little bit. Instead of coming straight here, and then not writing a single word because you all are more interesting than what I write, at least I think so. I decided to start with writing first. That way I can get a couple thousand words done and keep my promise to myself to write every day. That said, I put in three hours this morning on a book I intend to finish this year, Guns of War. I also had something else that was bothering me for quite a while, how to get my book cover images to 300 dpi. I got that figured out yesterday in the easiest way possible, and it was free. I found a site online yesterday. All I had to do was drag a photo from my hard drive and it was instantly converted to 300 dpi. I even checked those images and they all checked out at 300 dpi. Now, I have no worries when it comes to publishing my next book - Thread of Evidence, still in the hands of my good friend. Do you mow often? How short do you keep your lawn? Now, back to notifications and interacting. I still have a hundred notifications to tackle. Thanks for reading.

Changing things up a bit sounds like a good plan. Thankfully I don't have to mow anymore as our lawn service is covered by our HOA and they usually come on Thursdays. Maybe your neighbor used his lawn as an excuse to be outside and away from his wife?

@Marilynda1225 I think he's a widower. I've never seen her. However, I did see an ambulance in front of the home shortly after I moved here. Maybe he wanted to get it cut before it rained. It will be interesting to see if he's out there again tomorrow. Our lawn is cut on Tuesday's. So, I expect to see them and hear them tomorrow. Yes, I do need to change it up or I won't get that book finished.

Hi Valerie. I do not have anything to mow here since we dont have a lawn. I am actually getting sleepy to check the notifications but I do not want it to reach up to 200 and above.

Here the yard is green all winter because it rains all winter and the yard turns brown all summer. It is cool in the mornings and hot in the afternoon.

When I was doing the lawn a lot (not sick then), I used to mow the lawn twice a week in the early Spring, later on, once a week. Now, the lawn guy just did it this morning.

The complex lawn service comes every Tuesday. When I had my home, my son or grandson, or my neighbor did it once a week.

His lawn looks pretty neat and I guess that is the way he likes to see it all of the time. A guy comes to mow ours every month.

His yard always looks neat. You don't need to mow more than that? The lawn service is here every Tuesday.

Our lawn looks pristine from all the rain we've had. Ours is mowed by a landscaping company, thank goodness. I'd probably work on a book first, then come here to relax.

wonder if his lawn needs it, or he just likes to be out there doing it.. glad you spent a lot of time on the book this morning, and that you got the cover images thing figured out! We don't mow. they have landscapers for that, though they don't cut it as often as the old people use to, or as short. ugh.

I would say it doesn't from the look of it. However, with the rain today, and with it being nice tomorrow, I wonder if I'll see him out there again tomorrow. Thank you. I was worried I would need to get Photoshop which costs a bit of change that I don't have. It was good to find an easy way to do it. The lawn service for this complex comes on Tuesdays.

The homestead? Every 10 days to 2 weeks. Th old home place? I have to do it if I think it looks bad, because people will call in and complain, yes people do that.

I have an acre for yard space. I don't now the entire thing every time. Instead hubby and I just tend to it as needed. He uses the rider and gets the bulk of it. We both use the push mower and weedeater. I tend to do sections as I see it :)

Doesn't that give you different lengths and cause you to always be cutting the lawn? An acre is a lot of land.

@Daelii I can see how that would work and not look uneven. Cutting 6 acres is a lot of cutting.

@just4him it can but I try to stick to a pattern so its really not noticeable! Like the back hill is a steep curved incline that is separated from rest of the lawn by a y shape drive. So hill one day Y drive another / its on one side Front yard another Then just weed eating and maintenance between! Otherwise its just too hard to do! Its still better than cutting 6 acres which I had to do lol

You write very interesting stuff, young lady. Don't you go kidding yourself. As for mowing the grass it is usually just once a week, but sometimes if it rains a lot it has to be done twice. Your neighbor is probably bored, lol. Looks like he is just wasting gas. Hope you get your back straight.

I almost thought he was going to bring the mower out again a couple hours ago. He was out checking the grass. I know we just had rain, so maybe it's too wet to mow, though it should be dry by now. Maybe he decided it doesn't need it. Which from what I can see, doesn't. Thank you. I'm glad you find what I write interesting. Yes, my back is much better, thank you.
