Painting project day #1

My in-laws were here at the house working today while my husband and I were off at work. They painted the ceilings and part of the front room. The ceilings are sparkling white again! I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about the shade of gray that we picked but it actually looks really nice up on the walls. My mother-in-law also found some pretty sheer panels for me to order for the windows. Tomorrow they will be back to finish painting the front room, the hallway, and the kitchen. I am less-enthused about the color my husband selected for that room but whatever. I'll live with it. I'm not house-obsessed. If it really drives me nuts, I'll just repaint it eventually. I suspect that I'll learn to live with it though. I am really grateful to them for taking this project on for us. Newly-painted walls and ceilings will really freshen up the look of the house.

I will tomorrow. I took a picture of the wall in the front room that's finished but it is just a picture of a gray wall so there isn't anything much to see so I didn't post it.

@TheHorse haha I started to type that we don't have any but then I was like "tv stand, Grandma's buffet under the window, MIL's hutch in the corner, strange wooden animal things that my grandmother gave me, etc. None of it is a huge FEATURE piece though that would draw attention to "wood". My home's theme is "sandy beach" so your eyes are directed to sandpipers, dunes, ocean waves, etc.

that's really nice that they're painting while you're at work. Hope you like the colors and it's nice to have freshly painted walls and ceilings. I want to paint desperately but can't decide on colors and have no one to do it for me and right now I can't afford to hire anyone. One of these days though, I'll have freshly painted walls and ceilings too.

I can do the painting myself. I had planned to during my time off this summer. I'm not sure how my husband managed to get them to do this but I appreciate it! I'll paint our bedroom and the bird room this summer.
