The fun of vintage Disney animation

Today, I had a party for the elementary choir to celebrate a successful year. I looked on Youtube and found some really vintage Disney shorts called "Silly Symphonies." (I have used others in the past, from video or DVD, but these are new to me.) I showed "The Hare and the Tortoise", "The Grasshopper and the Ant", and "The Pied Piper." What really struck me about these 1930s Disney things were the strong ethical values: lazing around will get you nowhere, cheating is wrong, helping others is good.
Also, the kids loved them. They especially liked "The Hare and the Tortoise." Even though they knew the story, they were all biting their fingernails and holding their breath as the Tortoise approached the finish line!
Do you have any vintage movies you enjoy?

@petatonicsca Those old animations were a lot better than the modern ones. Clearing the apartment of my deceased mother I have found Walt Disney comics from 1936 up to 1942.

I use MusicLand as a conclusion of our orchestral instrument unit. The kids love finding all the instruments in the landscape and as characters.

I like Dumbo a lot...I always cry when I see it. Sleeping Beauty is another of my all-time favorites too. Out of the many I enjoy from Disney, these 2 are my favorites.

For some reason Dumbo scared me when I was little, but now I think it's cute.

Well it's a bit sad for Dumbo's Mom had to protect Dumbo.

That is what is nice about teaching elementary school. I can do it and it's my job too!

@petatonicsca I do think so, my friend. It had changed. Even Maleficent became a lead role in a movie.

I like most Disney but haven't watched a lot of the newer ones. Nice music though.

I have to admit I am not much of a fan but it seems many others are.
