Happy Wednesday all! Wasting a little bit of time running some errands before heading to work for an afternoon/evening shift. How is everyones Wedneday going? I have a friend who lives in Denver and I am debating on, if I find the opportunity, going camping and hiking with him in Rocky Mountains National Park, only 2 hours outside Denver, at some point this summer. After experiencing Death Valley, I find myself itching to get back out ito nature and exploring some of the beauty within the US. The one part, besides still being a little broke from my last trip, that holds me back is my absolute FEAR of predator wild life. Like bears, mountain lions, bobcats and so forth. Have you ever encountered one of these? Have you ever been into Rocky Mountains National Park? If so, what was your experience. Highlights and low lights appreciated!

I've never been to Colorado but I would like to. Other than skunks, raccoons, rabbits and coyotes, I've never run into anything very threatening. One thing I ran into and never want to see again is a muskrat. Those things are HUGE and they are disgusting!

@maezee Not if you leave them alone. They only attack if they feel threatened.

I haven't been there, but I have heard great things. My sis and her family are in Yellowstone now. That is a place I would love to go back to.

Never been to the rocky mountains and not a fan of hiking or going on trails but i i have done some around the house in TN that my family has. My Wednesday is not going so well so hopefully maybe later on today it will and see what will happen. Just not in the best of mood but will make the most of my day. Hopefully yours will be a good one and have a great day.

I have never been to Rocky Mountain National Park but one has to expect to encounter some wildlife when you are in a national park. I am not into wildlife myself.

That would be my main fear - encountering wild animals or snakes. One reason why I steer clear of unbeaten paths.

No, we hardly have parks here like you do. we have 'recreation grounds' that is maintained for light evening exercises like walking or jogging. We have no threaten wild life...maybe a bird sanctuary.
