I took a hike yesterday before work. I may go today but my stomach is hurting. I was strolling along a popular trail and well used trail. I heard something in the bush but this is normal. Usually a squirrel or birds etc. I didn't look back and kept walking. I stop as my phone wouldn't count my steps properly. So I hear someone walking behind me then stop. I look behind me and this giant black bear was staring eye to eye with me. I must say I crapped my pants but I just walking normally (faster lol) but it just seemed to follow then go off into the bush.

Maybe he was lost and wanted to ask for directions.

Or maybe he wanted to ask her out on a date.

Mike and I had that happen when we hiked in the smoky mountains a few years ago. Mike said we were walking in their home so they were protecting their territory.

I suppose something that deters bears, such as bear spray or whatever they call it. would be wise.
