Coming in at # 6 on my 10 unstoppable forces in the animal kingdom series is the Wolf, one of the most beautiful and, successful hunters in the wild, a big male wolf can get about 175 pounds, though they are usually around a 100 pounds, in height I would guess around 2 or 3 feet at the shoulder and, very intelligent animals, that live in packs of a dominant male and, dominant female, plus all of their kids and, sometimes kids, kids, these packs can approach 50 members. Wolves also usually mate for life and, are very territorial animals, they will defend their territories very ferociously, against other Wolf packs, they communicate through howls when to fight or when to hunt, the wolf will eat about anything it can take down, but mostly prefers Deer or Elk, they hate Coyotes to. So, will kill those at any chance it gets. Small prey they take by biting their throat, the bigger animals they have to run down until they are in exhaustion or have just lost to much blood. Another interesting note is they can run from 35 to 45 mph and, jump about 16 feet across or more. Some information verified at Wikipedia, for the most part only a Tiger or Bear threaten a Wolf in the wild, besides other Wolves or human of course. Photo is from Pixabay free images.

I really want to see a snow wolf. Most of the time, the bigger cats know wiser not to disturb the wolf packs. The wolves may be smaller but In numbers they hold well against the big cats

Marvelous animals. Dominant male and female, it means they have a king and a queen. That's cool. Hunting big preys is hard work, running till they're exhausted, wow.
