The little ones above are Hudson and Amyra, my niece (6) and nephew (2). My sister and brother-in-law came up here (they live 3 hrs. away) a few weeks ago for their vacation. It was such a treat. Most of you know my niece & nephew are both adopted, and some may remember Hudson has Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (caused by birth mom being an alcoholic). He has come so far. It's such a terrible thing to have, but he's made a lot of progress. He can say a few sentences now, and he pulls himself up, and moves himself around grabbing surface to surface. The physical therapist taught him sign language so he can communicate better. Amyra learned it too because she said Hudson was her best friend, and they had to talk.
We were at a restaurant having dinner, when two older couples walked by to tell us how wonderful it was to see two children love on each other so much. That made everyone feel good. Amyra turns seven in July, and I cannot believe we've had her for six years. She's grown so much! She had so many health problems too, being so premature. She had a hole in her heart, her lungs were underdeveloped so she was on oxygen for two years, plus she frequently had pneumonia. She's a little miracle.

First and foremost, I must appreciate people who adopt, and more your sibling because people are not adopting normal children. They've adopted two children with health problems. The two look awesome. Children are also free from racial complexes. I hope both have really happy, healthy, fruitful and successful lives making others realize that it can be done, and done splendidly.

@AmbiePam I am fine with adoption, provided the child has neither parents. When the child has parents, we get two bosses. You are not doing this for my child, the child never becomes mine...the parents get to step in, and live in with us. Effectively the person who adopts becomes their servant. At least that is the way it is in many such cases. Usually, it is relatives who somehow manage to convince the childless to adopt. Children who have ailments, or who have lost their families to calamities deserve to be adopted, not every child.

This is a heart warming story. The children love each other so much that they have managed to grow up to be such darlings.

That is a wonderful photo and great story. My now 29 year old daughter was adopted at three days old and had pneumonia when she was a few weeks old, then heart surgery at 17 months for a hole between chambers. It healed her and she leads a good life today.
