Isn’t it interesting that two such diverse musical genres as heavy metal and country have a shared affinity for writing and singing about the devil. Country legend George Jones hardly requires introduction. If he is not among the top 10 male country artists of all time, he would receive serious consideration. “Oh Jesus, please, please take the devil outta me I’m getting tired of living in sin I’m tired of keeping the devil for my friend” I will have to eat my hat if fourwalls does not approve of this selection. Written by Jones, “Take the Devil Out of Me” is classic old country. The song was not a single. Its first album appearance was “George Jones Sings” in 1957 then “Country Church Time” in 1959. “Take the Devil Out of Me” was included in the 1965 compilation album “Long Live King George.”
George Jones' fabulous B-Side to Cup of Loneliness, Mercury 71224, 11-11-1957.

::jumping around for joy:: ::cheering:: ::doing handstands (in my mind, that's quite dangerous to do physically at my age and physical condition):: Yeah, it's okay.

@JohnRoberts -- tell the truth, do you even own one? Unless you bought it at a Rank and File or Lone Justice concert back in the 80s....

@FourWalls No, I don't. I do have a Howard Hughes fedora that I got at the old Spruce Goose exhibit in Long Beach.
